A Quiet Place with Tea
A Quiet Place
Far from the busy crowd and from the hurried pace,
We all need time to be alone within our Quiet Place.
There we pause to rest awhile, to feed our hungry heart,
Letting God refresh and give our life a brand-new start.
Then all our cares and trials just seem to fade away,
As we meet with Him together in our Quiet Place each day.

Hi, I'm Sherryl,
Be Still. Be Quiet. Just Be.
Sometimes we just want a quiet place to be still, be quiet and just be. Be alone ... be with God.
The busyness of life can often be draining.
If you're feeling down, confused, hurting or just need a moment of peace, then this virtual space is for you.
So pull up a chair, pour a cup of tea ... or coffee ... or whatever your favourite beverage might be! Then be still and just soak in the blessing of quietude. Our virtual tearoom is always open and you're always welcome here!
With much love,
The spirit of the tea beverage is one of peace, comfort and refinement.

Scones, Tea, Clotted Cream and Jam
We can't have tea without scones, clotted cream and jam!
Simple Fruit Scones
Ingredients:
2 oz butter
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup sultanas or chopped dates
2 eggs beaten
2/3 cup milk
Method:
1. Heat the oven to 400F
2. Grease a baking sheet with butter and sprinkle with flour.
3. Sieve the flour into a bowl, add the cubed butter, baking powder and salt. Quickly rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Work quickly so the dough does not become heavy.
4. Add the sugar and dried fruit, mix well.
5. Make a well in the center and with a dinner knife, stir in enough milk to make a soft, pliable dough. If the dough is too sticky sprinkle with a little flour.
6. Turn the mixture on a floured board and knead, very lightly, until just smooth then lightly roll out to 3/4" thick.
7. Cut into rounds with a 2" cookie cutter or into triangles with a sharp knife.
8. Place on the baking tray, brush with some beaten egg and milk mixture. Bake near the top of the hot oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and well risen.
9. Cool on a wire rack.
Serve with butter, jam and cream - and your choice of tea! Enjoy!
If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated; it will cool you;
if you are depressed, it will cheer you; if you are excited it will calm you.

Tea ... Wealth Itself
A wise person once said that tea is wealth itself, because there is nothing that cannot be lost, no problem that will not disappear, no burden that will not float away, between the first sip and the last.
There is something in the nature of tea
that leads us into a world of quiet contemplation of life.

Giving Thanks
When we slow down, quiet our minds and focus on all the good in our lives, no matter how unsettled we may feel, we realise that there is still so much to be grateful for.
Let's always strive to be grateful.
